A supplier that reads the method before quoting the product.

Laboratory supply in India has a specific failure mode. A buyer sends a product code. A supplier quotes that code. Six weeks later the material arrives, and it is the right substance in the wrong grade, or the right grade in a pack size that does not fit the consumption, or an instrument built to a standard that was superseded two revisions ago. Nobody lied. Nobody asked either.

We work the other way round. Tell us the test, the standard it works to and roughly what you consume, and we will come back with the grade and pack size that fit — including the cases where a cheaper grade does the same job. A second-year titration practical does not need analytical-grade sodium hydroxide, and saying so costs us margin on that line and earns the next order.

What we publish, and what we do not

This site publishes 4692 product records across 38 categories. That is a working sample, not the whole range — the catalogue we can source from is considerably wider, and most enquiries include at least one item we have not listed.

What is published is checked. Every CAS number on this site is validated against its check digit when the site is built, so a mistyped number stops the build instead of sending a buyer to the wrong substance. Every test standard has been confirmed against the issuing body, and where a standard has been superseded or withdrawn we show the current reference alongside the old one rather than quietly reprinting whichever we found first.

We do not publish prices. In this trade a price depends on pack size, quantity, grade, freight and the day’s exchange rate — a published number would be wrong for most buyers on most days, and a supplier who publishes one is either quoting a worst case or hoping you do not check.

What we are not

We are not a manufacturer. When a certification appears anywhere on this site it belongs to the party named on the certificate. A manufacturer’s ISO 9001 certifies that manufacturer, not their dealers, and presenting it otherwise is misrepresentation — so we do not.

We are also not a laboratory. We arrange NABL-scope calibration through accredited laboratories and state the scope and certificate number on the quotation, but the accreditation is theirs and we name them.

The grade reference

The 26 grade definitions published in our reference section exist because most supplier sites print the abbreviation and stop there. AR, GR, LR, Extra Pure, HPLC, LC-MS, IP, USP, ULTRAPURE — these are not marketing tiers, they are specifications with testable meanings, and the difference between two of them is often the difference between a result that survives an audit and one that does not.
