What laboratories usually order alongside this.
Borosilicate 3.3 Glassware
Beakers, flasks, condensers, reagent bottles, funnels and extraction assemblies in low-expansion borosilicate glass.
Volumetric Ware — Class A & B
Volumetric flasks, pipettes, burettes and measuring cylinders in certified accuracy classes.
Filtration
Qualitative, quantitative and ashless filter papers, membrane and glass-fibre filters, sintered funnels and vacuum assemblies.
Class A is a tolerance. It is not a calibration.
This distinction costs accredited laboratories real audit findings. Class A volumetric ware carries roughly half the tolerance of Class B and ships with a conformity certificate for the batch. Class AS adds a specified delivery time on pipettes and burettes.
But a conformity certificate is a manufacturing statement, not a traceable calibration. If your laboratory holds a NABL scope, that Class A flask still needs periodic calibration under a volume scope, with a certificate showing the traceability chain. Buying Class A does not discharge the obligation.
Read the TC/“In” and TD/“Ex” markings too — To Contain and To Deliver are not interchangeable, and the calibration temperature (conventionally 20 °C) is on the item for a reason.
On glass: Borosilicate 3.3 is a glass specification under ISO 3585, not a brand. It designates a coefficient of linear expansion of about 3.3 × 10⁻⁶ K⁻¹ — the property that gives thermal shock resistance and chemical durability. Soda-glass equivalents cost less and crack on a hot plate.
On safety: this is the category most often left until after an audit finding. Send us your chemical register and we will size the eyewash provision, map glove chemistry to breakthrough times, and specify a spill kit against the largest container on your shelf rather than against a typical spill.
