Ice Flaker, Touchscreen, 30 / 50 / 100 kg per 24 h

Plumbed flake ice machine in three daily outputs, producing dry flakes that pack around samples and cool them by contact rather than sitting beside them as cubes do.

Typical applications

  • Packing samples and specimens in ice
  • Cooling flasks, bags and tissue during preparation
  • Ice baths for homogenisation and extraction
  • Hospital, research institute and biotechnology laboratory supply

Worth knowing before you order

Flake ice is the reason to choose this over a cube machine. Soft, dry flakes pack around a flask, a bag or a specimen and cool over the whole contact surface, so a sample chills faster and holds temperature longer than it does propped in cube ice. Two practical points. First, this is a plumbed installation, not a bench appliance: it needs a 3/4 inch BSP water supply and a drain, and front and back ventilation clearance. Second, size on the storage bin, not on the headline output - 12, 16 or 35 kg of storage against 30, 50 or 100 kg per 24 h, so what matters is how much ice you draw at once, not the daily total. Rated output assumes ambient below 25 °C. Refrigerant is R290A, which is propane and therefore flammable.

Site preparation required

This instrument needs site work before delivery — typically a level grouted foundation, a dedicated power supply, and in some cases drainage or extraction. We issue the foundation drawing and utility schedule with the quotation so the civil work runs in parallel with the lead time.

Support available

  • Installation & commissioning
  • Operator training
  • Annual maintenance contract
  • Spares & consumables

Calibration is arranged through NABL-accredited laboratories under the relevant scope. We state the scope and the certificate number on the quotation — see what accreditation actually covers.
