Karl Fischer Titrator, Volumetric and Coulometric
Karl Fischer titrator for water content that runs both volumetric and coulometric titration on one instrument, with a separate cell for each so trace and percent-level moisture can be handled.
Typical applications
- Water content in solvents and oils
- Moisture in active pharmaceutical ingredients and formulations
- Moisture in foods and edible oils
- Trace moisture in fine chemicals
- Moisture in plastics and powders

Worth knowing before you order
This is the first question to settle, and this model answers it both ways: it does volumetric and coulometric Karl Fischer titration on one chassis, with a volumetric titration cell and a coulometric electrolytic cup supplied together. Coulometric is the trace-moisture technique — the diaphragm generator cell and the micro cup are for samples at ppm level, where iodine is generated electrochemically and no titrant titre has to be maintained. Volumetric, using the 10 ml burette and a titrant of known titre, is for higher water contents; the printed volumetric range of 0.1 mg to 250 mg of water is the figure to size your sample against. The catalogue prints the coulometric range as '10µg ~ 20mA'; the upper figure is a current, not a mass, so only the 10 µg lower limit is reproduced here and the upper limit should be obtained in writing. Karl Fischer reagent, working medium, molecular sieve and drying-tube desiccant are consumables and none are listed. The 200-set memory is described as GLP-compliant; that compliance rests on the user's own procedures and records.Specification
