Worth knowing before you order

A note on the EN citation. BSI withdrew BS EN 1427:2015 in May 2026 on republication, and the successor edition number is not yet published anywhere we can check, so the method is cited undated above rather than pinned to an edition that has lapsed. The test itself is unchanged. IS 1205 and EN 1427 are both ring-and-ball methods but BIS records IS 1205 as an indigenous standard rather than an adoption of EN 1427, so do not treat a result reported under one as automatically satisfying the other.
