Total Organic Carbon Analyser, UV Oxidation with NDIR Detection

Total organic carbon analyser that oxidises the sample by UV and wet chemistry and measures the carbon dioxide released on a non-dispersive infrared detector, reporting TC, TIC, TOC and NPOC.

Typical applications

  • Waste water and effluent monitoring
  • Source, surface and drinking water
  • Cleaning validation swab and rinse samples
  • Purified water and water for injection
  • Process and cooling water in industry

Worth knowing before you order

The detector decides what this instrument is for. Infrared detection of the CO2 released by oxidation tolerates dirty and salty samples - up to 85 g/L salinity and particles to 0.2 mm - and reads all the way to 10,000 mg/L, which is effluent, process water and source water territory. A conductivity-detection TOC will not do that work. What it costs is a running utility and a computer: nitrogen at ≥99.995% purity is required and only the decompression device is supplied, not the cylinder or the gas, and the analyser is computer-controlled, so a PC has to be provided and kept with the instrument. The autosampler is optional, so unattended batches are an extra line. The software offers electronic signatures and log export; a regulatory data-integrity claim is met by the user's validated configuration and procedures, not by the feature list.
