Worth knowing before you order
This is the manual instrument: a person looks down an eyepiece, matches the field halves by hand and reads a dial. Its stated accuracy of ±0.05° is two orders of magnitude coarser than the automatic models in this section, which read to 0.001°, and it will not support pharmacopoeial optical-rotation work — that is the reason to buy an automatic model, not convenience. There is no temperature control, and the reading depends on the operator as well as on path length, wavelength and temperature. The gross weight printed in the table did not scan legibly and has been left out.Specification
