Indent

Nitrogen Generator, 300 mL/min

Electrolytic nitrogen generator delivering up to 300 mL/min at 0.4 MPa with oxygen held at or below 3 ppm, as an alternative to cylinder nitrogen on the bench.

Typical applications

  • Carrier and make-up gas for gas chromatography
  • Blanketing and blow-down concentration
  • Replacement for cylinder nitrogen on the bench

Worth knowing before you order

Purity is quoted as one figure only - oxygen at or below 3 ppm - with no moisture or hydrocarbon limit printed, so before treating this as carrier gas check that 3 ppm oxygen meets the limit the column manufacturer sets for the stationary phase, and ask for the moisture figure. The 1.2 L cell runs on potassium hydroxide solution and 120 g of KOH is supplied to make the first fill; the molecular sieve has to be regenerated in a muffle furnace at 250-300 °C for 24 hours, which is a recurring job that needs a furnace the lab may not already have. Flow is 300 mL/min at 0.4 MPa, which suits capillary carrier duty rather than anything needing bulk nitrogen.
