Paddle Blender Homogeniser, 400 mL, Heated

Paddle blender that works the sample inside a closed sterile bag, so the initial suspension is prepared without any part of the machine touching the sample.

Typical applications

  • Preparation of initial suspensions for microbiological examination
  • Food and dairy testing
  • Environmental sample preparation
  • Pharmaceutical microbiology
  • Life-science research sample preparation

Conforms to

ISO 6887-1
  • ISO 6887-1Microbiology of the food chain — Preparation of test samples, initial suspension and decimal dilutions for microbiological examination — Part 1: General rules

Worth knowing before you order

Nothing on this machine touches the sample. The material is worked inside a closed sterile bag by paddles that stay outside it, so there is no probe to strip and clean and no carry-over between samples — that, not speed, is why a microbiology laboratory buys a paddle blender instead of a rotor-stator homogeniser. The cost that follows you is the bags: 400 mL bags to suit the 170 x 300 mm chamber are a per-sample consumable and only 50 sample covers ship with the machine, so put bags on the same purchase order and decide up front whether you need the filter-membrane type, which lets you pipette the suspension straight out without straining. The 80 °C heating is for warming the diluent, and the ultraviolet cycle only treats exposed surfaces of the empty chamber — neither of them sterilises a loaded bag.
