Dry Bath Nitrogen Evaporator (Sample Concentrator), 12 or 24 Positions

Heated aluminium block that plays nitrogen onto the surface of 12 or 24 warmed tubes to concentrate solvent extracts down without oxidising heat-sensitive analytes.

Typical applications

  • Concentration of solvent extracts before chromatography
  • Pesticide residue sample preparation
  • Pharmaceutical and biotechnology sample concentration
  • Environmental analysis
  • Clinical and forensic sample preparation

Worth knowing before you order

The gas is not included and neither is the means of metering it: a nitrogen cylinder or generator, a regulator and the connecting line are yours to supply, and the flow meter — the part that makes blowdown reproducible from batch to batch, which is what a residue method needs — is listed as an optional accessory rather than standard. The two models differ in more than position count: maximum gas pressure is 0.04 MPa on the 12-position and 0.12 MPa on the 24-position. The block is drilled 16.5 mm, so check your tube diameter against that and against the 150 mm needle length, which is quoted for tubes of 10 mm and above. Solvent vapour comes off the tubes continuously, so site the unit in a fume hood or under local extraction.
