Worth knowing before you order

The plate reaches 420 °C, well above the 300-350 °C of the ceramic-coated aluminium stirrer plates on pages 126 and 127, and graphite is the surface chosen when acid fume is the problem; it is softer than a ceramic coating, so it marks and glassware slides on it. There is no magnetic drive in this unit - if the sample has to be stirred while it heats, a hotplate magnetic stirrer is the machine, not this. One figure has been left out deliberately: the table prints "Temperature range 5~40 °C" alongside the 420 °C maximum, which cannot both describe the plate and reads as the ambient operating range, so the usable setting range is not stated and should be confirmed on the quotation. Nothing ships with it but the power adaptor, manual and test certificate.
