Microwave Digestion System, 6 or 12 Vessels, 15 MPa

Closed-vessel microwave digestion system that dissolves solid samples in acid at up to 400 °C and 15 MPa, ready for elemental determination by AAS, ICP-OES or ICP-MS.

Typical applications

  • Sample digestion for elemental analysis
  • Pharmaceutical elemental impurities work
  • Environmental, soil and water samples
  • Geological and mining samples
  • Petrochemical samples
  • Food, feed and forensic samples

Worth knowing before you order

This is a pressure vessel system, and the vessels are the consumable. TFM liners craze, discolour and lose their sealing face under hot concentrated acid, and the caps, seals and pressure calibration rings wear with every cycle, so a rolling replacement of vessel sets is the standing cost of ownership rather than an occasional spare. Ask for the rated vessel life in cycles and for a full vessel set to be quoted before you compare the 6-vessel and 12-vessel models — twelve vessels means twelve liners to replace. That sandpaper and an unload tool ship as standard accessories tells you the vessels are dressed and serviced as part of routine use. Site preparation matters too: the acid vapour the blower pushes out has to be ducted away through the supplied exhaust pipe to a fume hood or to outside air, and the unit wants a dedicated 10 A single-phase supply. The 400 °C and 15 MPa figures are instrument ceilings; what any individual vessel is rated to is a separate question worth asking in writing.

Site preparation required

This instrument needs site work before delivery — typically a level grouted foundation, a dedicated power supply, and in some cases drainage or extraction. We issue the foundation drawing and utility schedule with the quotation so the civil work runs in parallel with the lead time.

Support available

  • Installation & commissioning
  • Calibration
  • Validation & qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ)
  • Operator training
  • Annual maintenance contract
  • Spares & consumables

Calibration is arranged through NABL-accredited laboratories under the relevant scope. We state the scope and the certificate number on the quotation — see what accreditation actually covers.
