Worth knowing before you order
The probe decides what the machine can do; the generator only sets the ceiling. Each model ships with one horn — 6, 10, 20 and 22 mm as the power rises — and the probe table ties every diameter to a volume band and to a usable amplitude range, so an 1800 W unit on its 22 mm horn will not process 5 mL and a 650 W unit on the 2 mm microtip will not process 500 mL. Buy the probes for the volumes you actually run rather than the wattage that sounds safest. Sonication is a heating process: the energy ends up as heat in a small volume, so an ice bath and pulsed operation are normal practice, and the jacketed circulating beaker supplied as standard only circulates if you also buy a recirculating chiller to feed it, which is not part of the package. The enclosure is not a luxury — an unhoused horn at these powers is loud enough to damage hearing — and its UV lamp treats only the exposed surfaces of an empty cabinet. One inconsistency to settle on the quotation: the PRO656 minimum volume is printed as 0.2 mL in the specification table and 0.1 mL in the probe table.Specification
