Worth knowing before you order

A water bath stops at 100 °C and in practice below it, because the fluid boils away; anything above that needs the oil bath stirrer on page 124. The bath fluid is the whole heat path, so the tank must be filled before the heater is switched on - the anti-dry-burning cut-out is fitted because running one dry is how these are usually destroyed. Stability is quoted at ±1 °C, which is a bath figure and not what a jacketed circulator would give if the method needs tighter control. An ABS top cover and one stir bar are supplied; vessel holders are not.
