Worth knowing before you order
This is an accessory, quoted and ordered as a separate line item, and it is the item that decides whether a micro, semi-micro or analytical balance ever performs to its specification. A balance reading to 0.1 mg or 0.01 mg responds to floor and bench vibration from footfall, doors, centrifuges and air handling; the pad puts a heavy, damped, manually levelled top between the balance and that movement so the reading settles instead of drifting. It has no power supply and nothing to connect - it simply stands on the bench or floor, and the balance stands on it. Choose between the two versions on the environment: the SS304 version for washdown, food-contact or corrosive areas, the mild-steel version for a dry laboratory. Note that the catalogue is internally inconsistent about the material - the per-model rows read SS304 and MS while a shared row reads "galvanized steel plate" with a 1 mm thickness - so confirm the construction of the version quoted before ordering for a corrosive area. It also does not cure a bad bench: on a springy or resonant surface the pad damps but does not isolate, and a solid support underneath is still needed.Specification
