Double-Beam UV-Visible Spectrophotometer, Dual Detector

Stand-alone double-beam UV-visible spectrophotometer whose two detectors read sample and reference at the same instant, offered with fixed or selectable bandwidth and a single or eight-position cell holder.

Typical applications

  • Pharmaceutical assay and identification
  • Wavelength scanning
  • Kinetics and time-course measurement
  • DNA and protein quantification
  • Multi-wavelength analysis
  • Water and effluent colorimetry

Worth knowing before you order

Read the bandwidth row twice before ordering. The table prints bandwidth in two places and they disagree: a per-model row gives 1 nm for the first two models and selectable 1.0 / 2.0 / 4.0 nm for the third and fourth, and a later row then gives 1 nm across all four. The per-model row is the one that distinguishes the models, so have the bandwidth confirmed in writing if you are buying for a method that names one. The other difference between the four is the cell holder: a single 10 mm position on the first and third models, an eight-position programmable changer on the second and fourth. The instrument runs stand-alone from its own LCD and does not need a PC. The Peltier / sipper system and the multi-cell holder are optional and quoted separately, and the multi-cell holder on this series takes cells up to 50 mm, not the 100 mm offered on the single-beam models. Baseline flatness and noise are both printed as ± 0.001 A/h, a drift unit that cannot be right for either, so both are left out.
