Worth knowing before you order
The point of this instrument is that it measures a 0.5 to 2 µL drop on an open pedestal with no cuvette and no dilution, so a precious extract is wiped off and recovered rather than consumed; the short 0.02 and 0.05 mm paths let concentrated DNA be read without dilution, and the 1.0 mm path covers dilute samples. The catalogue prints no spectral bandwidth for this model anywhere, and no beam configuration either — bandwidth is the figure a pharmacopoeial method specifies, so ask for it in writing before this instrument is committed to a compendial assay. The absorbance accuracy row also carries a second clause, '±1% (7.332 Abs at 260 nm)', which cannot be reconciled with the stated absorbance range of 0.02 to 3.00 A, so it has been left out. Fluorescence measurement needs dyes and a quantitation kit; the standard accessories list carries none.Specification
