Worth knowing before you order

Three things decide this model against the fixed-bandwidth ones: the double-beam optics, the PMT detector, and the bandwidth being continuously adjustable from 0.1 to 5 nm rather than fixed at 1 or 2 nm — a pharmacopoeial method that names a bandwidth can be matched rather than argued about. There is no on-board display or keypad: the instrument is PC-software controlled and the catalogue states plainly that the computer is not supplied, so budget for one. Two printed figures have been left out because they cannot be right — the photometric range is printed as '0 – 10,00,000%T', which is not a possible transmittance, and base line flatness is printed as '±0.0005% Abs', mixing a percentage with an absorbance unit. The catalogue says the software 'mostly complies with GLP/GMP'; that is the manufacturer's claim about their software, not a product standard, and GLP or GMP status is demonstrated by your own validated process.
