Worth knowing before you order

The two things that decide this family over a strain-gauge loadcell balance of the same resolution are the weighing cell and the calibration. Electromagnetic force compensation holds its linearity and its zero across the range and drifts less with temperature than a loadcell, which is what makes 1 mg credible at 1020 g; and calibration is internal, from a motorised weight inside the balance, so there is no external weight to buy, store, handle or re-certify. Read the three figures separately: 1 mg is readability, repeatability is also 1 mg and linearity is 2 mg, so a difference of one or two display steps between two weighings is not a real difference. The "Min. (Capacity) 100 mg" row is the smallest load the balance is specified for - below it nothing is guaranteed; where a pharmacopoeial minimum weight matters, that is set by a repeatability test on your own bench, not by this figure. "Class I" is printed without a verification scale interval or a number of scale intervals, so treat it as a class designation and not as evidence of legal-for-trade verification, which is a separate exercise. The operating range is 15-30 °C, narrower than the general-purpose balances in this range, so it wants a temperature-controlled room rather than a warm store.
