Worth knowing before you order
The underhook is a hook on the underside of the balance from which a sample can be hung on a wire or in a basket and weighed below the instrument rather than on the pan. It exists for samples that will not sit on a pan: a solid being weighed in air and then in liquid for density, a magnetic part that would pull on the weighing cell if it sat above it, and items too long or awkward to balance. Using it means standing the balance over an opening or on a stand so the load hangs free and still, and the suspension wire, basket and stand are not in the standard accessories. Two other points separate this model from its neighbours: it is stated to have no battery backup, so it is mains-only and will stop dead in a power cut, and its 105 mm pan is the largest of the 1 mg balances here. The specification table gives no calibration row, so confirm whether it calibrates internally or from an external weight before ordering. Readability is 1 mg against 1 mg repeatability and 3 mg linearity - the last digit is resolution, not accuracy.Specification
