Worth knowing before you order

The gsm unit is the reason most buyers pick this model over the other 3000 g / 0.01 g balances, and it only works if the specimen area is fixed: the balance converts mass to grammage on the assumption of a standard cut area, so a circular sample cutter of the matching area is needed and is not in the accessory list. Linearity is ±0.03 g, three display steps, and that is the working uncertainty rather than the 0.01 g on the display. Calibration is external and no calibration mass is supplied. No windshield is listed, so keep it clear of draughts. The operating range is 15-35 °C, narrower than the 10-40 °C of some balances in the same capacity class.
