Worth knowing before you order

Visible only. There is no deuterium lamp and the range starts at 325 nm, so any UV assay or identification test below that wavelength — which is most of the pharmacopoeial UV work — cannot be run on this instrument. The 4 nm spectral bandwidth is wider than any narrow-band requirement a method is likely to state, and stray light is quoted at ≤ 0.3 %T, so treat absorbances above about 2 A with caution. It is easy to confuse with the manual-wavelength visible model, which looks much the same and carries the same 4 nm bandwidth and 325 to 1000 nm range: this one sets wavelength automatically and holds ± 1 nm accuracy and ± 0.5 nm repeatability, against a hand-set knob and ± 2 nm accuracy on the other. Confirm which one is on the order.
